Years ago Rodney King,
after his beating in LA,
softly asked America,

“People, can we all just
get along? Can we stop
making it horrible for
older folks and kids?”

Not yet, Rodney.
But rest in peace.
We will try again.

Donal Mahoney lives in St. Louis, Missouri. Some of his earliest work can be found at http://booksonblog12.blogspot.com/ and some of his newer work at Eye On Life Magazine.
